Diploma in Teaching English as Second Language
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Diploma in Teaching English as Second Language
Diploma in Teaching English as Second Language of Lincoln College of Science, Management & Technology (LCSMT) encourages students to reflect on and interpret the relation between theory and practice, to adapt new ideas and strategies to their own contexts, and to test and appraise new teaching techniques in their own classrooms. Students will be trained to solve problems logically and analytically and to think critically for every decision they make so that their decisions lead to making a positive difference in whatever profession they choose after diploma in TESL. The program provides the most current knowledge and emphasizes the skills needed for success in teaching and to pursue an advanced degree.
Program Aim
The program aims to help practicing teachers, or those wishing to become teachers, address in an informed and principled way the issues and professional needs that relate to their own working environment. The type of training is thus developed to encourage the learner’s autonomy without losing sight of elements of constant but flexible interaction, tailored to the specific needs of teachers in professional development. The program also aims to make the students apply principles of second language teaching in planning, executing, and evaluating class lessons.
Career Opportunities
Graduates will find a good variety of career opportunities in both public and private sectors where the demand for skilled English staff continues to rise.
After completion of this course the students are expected to find jobs and work as:
- Professional Teaching
- Curriculum Designer
- Trainer
- Executive in educational and training institutions
- Online Tutor
- ESL Trainer
- Private Tutor
